Analysis of Magnetic Field of Magnetic Gear during Overload

In order to avoid defects of conventional mechanical gears, magnetic gears (MG) have been proposed as a device to improve torque density of electromechanical systems. However, the high reliability of MG is also very important. This study looks into the magnetic field of MG during overload, and investigates the cause of demagnetization of permanent magnets on rotor. Additional, the high stability MG is designed, indicating that some slots are slotted and supplied magnetic windings on the rotor. Finally, a MG model is established, and the air gap magnetic field and torque are simulated. The results verify the correctness of the proposed model.
