Intelligent Transport Systems as a Way to Improve the Quality of the Rail-Truck Multimodal Freight Transportation

Presented research is dedicated to the problems of using automated systems in the area of rail-truck multimodal freight transportation. The share of multimodal transportation is steadily growing; the role of cooperation between enterprises of different modes of transport is increasing. At the same time, many problems arise in this area; the lack of a unified information environment for all participants in the transportation process is one of the most important of them. In our opinion, this problem could be solved by connecting road carriers and logistics intermediaries to the Computer and Information Center network of JSC “Russian Railways”.
