Optimizing the levels of group dimming of luminaires for adaptation tunnel lighting

When dimming tunnel LED luminaires, the efficiency of the drivers decreases as the dimming depth increases - the relative losses in the power driver are greatest at the lowest flow rate (36% loss at 10% F/Fnom, 17% at 20% F/Fnom, 11% at 40% F/Fnom, 8% at 70% F/Fnom, 6.5% at 100% F/Fnom). Obviously, with the presence of several groups of luminaires, the number of luminaires in the group and the dimming levels of the luminaires of each group are obtained by solving an optimization task. In the report, an optimization task has been formulated and solved for specific tunnel entrance exposures with corresponding ordered luminance schedules L20. The target function is a minimum power loss in the drivers used at a given time flow schedule of the luminance L20.
