A Four Channel Linearly Polarized Helical Beam Antenna System

A comparison is drawn between a helical beam system having both mode and polarization diversity and a Gaussian beam system having both space and polarization diversity. A four-channel array formation of helical beam antennas is designed and optimized using in-house GPU software and fabricated on printed circuit board. An equivalent array formation of Gaussian beam antennas is fabricated for comparison. Channel isolation as a function of link distance is derived from measured data.
