Multi Depot Vehicle Routing Problem using ODV EV Based Genetic Algorithm

Algorithm (GA) is one among the pioneering bio-inspired optimization algorithm for deriving the solutions to NP hard problems. This algorithm gives the utmost efficiency in finding the best solution even though possesses a minute probability of error. It may locate the nearest optimal solutions with a minimal computation time. The enhanced ODV based GA has been proposed to solve MDVRP. It is evident from the ODV based GA improves the fitness of the solution at the time of population initialization itself. In the proposed model, the customers are first clustered based on distance to their nearest depots, which converts the complicated Multi-Depot VRP to Single Depot VRP and then enhanced ODV based GA is applied to every cluster. Now the routes can be scheduled and optimized using enhanced ODV based GA. The experiments are performed with different types of Cordeaux's Instances from the University of Malaga, Spain.
