Comparison of Fiber Optic Sensors Based on FBG – A Review

A review of the fiber optic sensor based on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) was done for the different parameters such as humidity, temperature, force and Refractive Index (RI) of the different medium which was analyzed from different experiments. Using single sensors more than one parameter can be measured using FBG. Fiber optic sensors are lightweight and portable in size, it can be used to measure minute variations. The application of FBG sensors is found to be in the field of biomedical, food processing, industrial measurements and health monitoring of the civil structures. The analysis for different measured parameters were considered and few parameters were compared.
