Optimization Methods of Operating System for Artificial Organs

At present, artificial organs have been widely used in biomedical engineering. The increasing complexity of their functions has made the traditional control software which is merely based on machine programming unable to meet the requirements. Therefore, we propose Cyborgan OS, an embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), as the basic software platform to achieve unified resource management and scheduling. The new OS is designed and implemented through the optimization of SmartOSEK OS. To reduce its kernel size, some unnecessary function modules of SmartOSEK OS have been deleted and some data structures have been optimized. Meanwhile, the system operation optimization and the task wake-up alignment are adopted to effectively reduce the power consumption of the OS.
