Review of Neutrosophic-Set-Theory-Based Multiple- Target Tracking Methods in Uncertain Situations

Due to the effects of various uncertain factors in sensor networks, such as limited sensor performance, unknown target dynamic models, imprecise data processing and unknown environmental disturbances, how to design effective multiple- target tracking (MTT) methods has become a challenge in air surveillance. In these uncertain situations, combining uncertainty theories with traditional MTT methods is a popular strategy. This paper mainly reviews the neutrosophic-theory-based MTT methods. The uncertainty of MTT in sensor networks is first analyzed and summarized. On this basis, the characteristics and limitations of traditional uncertainty-theory-based MTT methods are analyzed. Then, the basic concepts of the neutrosophic set theory are introduced, and its advantages with uncertainty problems in real applications are given. Moreover, the neutrosophic-set-theory-based MTT methods are presented and discussed. Finally, conclusions about the neutrosophic-set-theory- based MTT methods are presented.
