Reflection and Absorption Analysis of Obliquely Incident Wave in Reentry Plasma Sheath

Aiming at the radar detection of reentry targets with plasma sheath, this paper focuses on the study of the oblique incidence of electromagnetic waves with different polarizations into the non-uniform plasma sheath. The effects of plasma on reflection, absorption and group delay of vertical and horizontal polarized electromagnetic waves are studied from several aspects of incident angles, polarization mode, plasma electron density and collision frequency. To match the actual situation, a combination model of plasma and metal plate is established. The method of obliquely incident improved-scattering-matrix is used for calculation. In the analysis of the results, it is found that the amplitudes and phases characteristics of the reflected wave vary dramatically in sunken regions, and the position of sunken regions can be calibrated by the total reflection angle.
