A High-accuracy Target Tracking Method and Its Application in Acoustic Engineering

Target tracking within the azimuth history diagram is usually challenged by the random marine noise in passive sonar. In this paper, we propose a target tracking technology based on principal component analysis (PCA), which can enhance the useful signal information by using signal-to-noise separation technology. Considering that PCA may lead to azimuth mismatch errors, we further improve the accurate performance of the proposed method by using error corrections. The simulations are conducted by a set of simulation data and the results demonstrate that the new method can provide a higher accuracy and reliability compared with the conventional ones.
