Adaptive Control of Nonlinear Networked Systems With Quantized Inputs and Packet Dropouts

In networked control systems, it is of practical and theoretical importance to study the adaptive compensation for packet loss and input quantization, especially when the plant takes nonlinear form. However, there is still no solid results available to this problem. In this paper, we shall address it by proposing a new adaptive tuning function scheme. Our scheme is developed from the techniques of new piecewise Lyapunov function analysis, quantization nonlinear decomposition, parameter projection, and modified tuning function design. It is proved that all involved signals are ensured bounded, and the size of tracking error can be reduced as small as desired even for relatively frequent packet dropout.
