Variable Frequency Zero Voltage Switching Stacked-up Converter

This work describes zero voltage switching stacked-up converter as the satellite power system battery discharger. Switching processes have been analyzed. It is shown that soft switching is available in a limited range of battery voltage due to a decrease in the inductor current ripple amplitude. The soft switching range can be significantly extended by adjusting conversion frequency according to the condition of ensuring the input current recuperation interval. The regulation range limit with ZVS is determined while limiting the maximum value of the transformer flux density. The performed calculations show that it is 65% of the full regulation range. Experimental verification of the obtained results was provided.
