A Delay Abridged Judicious Cross-Layer Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network

In the era of Internet of Things (IoT), the sensors plays an important role. Sensors in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) deals with accumulation and processing of data and forward that to the remote locations, generally considered as cloud. Intelligent routing is essential while communicating among the nodes. As the communication is done between the nodes which are placed at a far locations. Hence, the time required to communicate the nodes and energy consumed in network plays an important role. This paper proposes Multi-hop Cluster LEACH (MC LEACH) algorithm based on Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical (LEACH) routing algorithm. It is a cross layer routing algorithm deals with physical, Media Access Control and Network layers. The collaboration of these layers results into much lesser communication delay which is around 6 times faster than LEACH protocol.
