Comparison and Analysis of Lightning Overvoltage by Grounding; Methods between Wind Turbines

In this study, the lightning overvoltages for different grounding methods are compared and analyzed. There are many grounding methods to prevent lightning damage to wind turbines. In this study, three grounding methods are considered: an independent grounding method and two common grounding methods. Independent grounding refers to the separate grounding of each facility that requires grounding. Common grounding is the integrated grounding of various facilities. The first method to implement common grounding is to group the grounds of each device together. The second method is to connect the existing independent grounds using a concatenation. The analysis of the lightning overvoltages for each grounding method is presented in this paper.
