Modelling of the Demand Curve of the Italian Capacity Market

As Italy gets ever closer to the official launch of the capacity market, interest grows ever higher in estimating how the new market will perform. This paper aims at demonstrating the characteristics of the demand curve of the main auction of the upcoming market. An adequacy assessment model using Monte Carlo simulations is developed to evaluate the state of generation capacity adequacy of the Italian power system.
