A Hybridized Metal/Polydimethylsiloxane Sponge for Multidirectional Pressure Energy Harvesting

This paper presents an original design of a hybridized metal/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sponge for multi-directional pressure energy harvesting. This kind of wired-sponge triboelectric nanogenerator (wired-sponge TENG) has the characterizations of stable structure, simple fabrication, low expense and high performance. The voltage signal output has a maximum peak-to-peak value of 45 V and the current signal output has a maximum peak-to-peak value of 400 nA, when the wired-sponge TENG is compressed to 50% of strain under the frequency of 1 Hz. And the maximum average output power of TENG reaches 0.25 μW under the external load of 100KΩ at the same experimental circumstance.
