Towards Decisional Natural Language Why-Question Recommendation Approach in Business Intelligence Context

Business Intelligence is the key technologies that ensures effective decision-making. It provides decisional information and adapted systems as Data Warehouses and OLAP tools. To access decisional information, decision makers should express their requirements in Natural Language. Question answering systems have been developed to handle these requirements. A Natural Language query can be formulated as WH-questions (“What, Who, Where, Why”), Keyword-like questions. In this paper, we focus on decisional Why-Questions. Expressing a requirement in Natural Language is not always obvious since the decision maker is unaware of the DW content. Consequently, we propose a grammar and an approach for Why-Questions recommendation system. For evaluation purposes, an experimental study is presented.
