The Concurrent Inverse Class-F Mode for Concurrent Dual-Band RF Power Amplifiers

Based on current waveform shaping, a novel concurrent inverse Class-F (Class-F
⁻¹
) mode is presented for the concurrent dual-band power amplifier (PA). According to the analysis of proposed concurrent modes, the optimal load impedances are given for output matching circuit design at fundamental, harmonic and intermodulation (IM) frequency. The process of engineering current and voltage adopts the strong nonlinear model of PA and reveals that concurrent Class-F
⁻¹
mode may have better linearity performance because of class-A bias point. The theoretical results show that the proposed mode show more than 3.8 dB output power promotion compared with concurrent Class-B mode, which are driven by two CW signals with same amplitudes, which provides an opportunity and potential to design concurrent power amplifier.
