Design and Fabrication of 5.8GHz RF Energy Harvesting Rectifier

Microwave power transmission and radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting technology are gaining more and more attention with the applications and technological progress of long-distance wireless charging. It can solve the problem of continuous power supply for large-scale sensor networks and power supply requirements for some special scenarios such as bioelectronics and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The current microwave power transmission is mainly concentrated in the frequency bands of ISM and millimeter wave. In this paper, a RF energy harvesting rectifier circuit is analyzed and designed for high power with a center frequency of 5.8 GHz. The prototype of the rectifier is fabricated with a thickness of 1 mm F4B dielectric plate and a relative dielectric constant of 2.65. When the input power is 100mW, the conversion efficiency reaches 66%.
