Hierarchical Rules for Knowledge Representation and Learning

Definitions of predicates by hierarchical rules are introduced. These rules extend Horn clauses to full first-order logic with functions. This paper describes how to learn representations of hierarchically definable predicates. The representations are used to predict formula validity probabilities. Validity probability scoring can be combined with inference.
