The M-APSK Signal Optimal Design Approaching Gaussian Channel Capacity

In a digital communication system, when an evenly distributed discrete signal passes through AWGN channel with power limit and noise power spectral density, the maximum information rate cannot reach Gaussian channel capacity. This paper uses the Box-Muller transform to design constellation points of M-APSK signal when the constellation points are near infinity. It draws a conclusion that the maximum information rate is the same as the Gaussian channel capacity, and improves the performance essentially compared with the M-QAM modulation which even under large signal to noise ratio still has performance loss. According to this process, the modulator model is constructed, the corresponding value of the M-APSK modulation signal is calculated, and the bit error rate curve is simulated.
