A Common Ground Dual-Output Quasi-Z-Source DC-DC Converter

In this paper, a quasi-Z-source dual output DC-DC converter is proposed. The converter integrates a quasi-Z-source and a buck DC-DC converter to achieve dual output port in a single structure. Integration of two aforementioned converters yields boost and buck-boost output ports. The advantages of the proposed converter include a common ground for three ports, a low number of components, and high reliability due to utilizing an impedance network. Firstly, the principles of operation are discussed and the design consideration of the converter is explained. Then, simulation results will be presented for a specific design to validate the theoretical analysis.
