Joint Channel-Encryption Coding Based on Interleaver and Multiplexer in Turbo Codes

Reliability and security of data communication via wireless channel are very challenging topics and attract many excellent researchers in the last decades. In this paper, a joint channel-encryption coding (JCEC) algorithm is presented and implemented by elaborated designing random interleaver and multiplexer in classic Turbo coding schemes. The encoding and decoding algorithm applies two private keys to generate two pseudo-random number sequences for interleaving the input bits and multiplexing the three received bits which obtain from the system bit and two bits of the two recursive system convolutional encoders. Our theoretical analysis shows that the encoded streams have both to correct transmitting errors for noise channels and resist chosen-plaintext attack. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images are used to test performance of the proposed algorithm. The experiment results demonstrate that the robust of our coding algorithm is superior to the traditional two steps coding schemes.
