Study on A-Pillar Display Algorithm through Image Registration

In this paper, A-pillar display algorithm with robustness is studied in the case of a fast-moving vehicle. For closed load-bearing structures of a car, A-pillar carries the body structure and the frontal impact pressure of the cockpit, so A-pillar plays an important role in improving the stability and rigidity of the car as well as safe driving. A-pillar is designed for dynamics considerations, however, some drawbacks exists, such as the binocular visual obstacle. The visual impairment caused by A-pillar affects safe driving and on the other hand, has the disadvantage of poor driving experience. To solve this problem, we implement A-pillar display through image registration for images that are captured simultaneously by two hand-held cameras. Through image registration, the blind area of A-pillar is detected and displayed from the driver's perspective.
