Noise Matching of the NMR Scanner Receiver

Receiver of the NMR scanner was investigated from the point of view of noise features. Theory of the noise figure has been modified to utilize the receiver for the digitization of its own noise and the noise figure calculation. The resulting equation has been calculated in general form, for possibly unmatched connection of a receive coil and the receiver. Dependence of the noise figure versus the coil resistance has been measured to look for the optimal noise matching. The results are depicted in a figure.
