Efficient Analysis for Solar Cell Based on Characteristic Basis Function Method

A fast analysis method for solar cell with multilayer medium is proposed. Firstly, to analyze the electromagnetic characteristics of solar cell, the integration equation based on layered media Green's function is introduced to reduce the unknowns of the structure. Secondly, characteristic basis function method based on singular value decomposition (CBFM-SVD) is applied to obtain a set of characteristic basis functions (CBFs) independent of excitation. Finally, the initial impedance matrix is further reduced in dimensions through CBFs operation. Numerical results show the correctness and effectiveness of this method. It provided a fast analysis way for the optimization of solar cells in the future.
