Mathematical Model of the Inverter with Advanced Features

This paper deals with an increasing share of renewable energy sources connected into low voltage grids, related problems and possible solutions. Trends are moving to utilization of so-called advanced inverters. Main contribution of the paper lies in creating the model of such inverter, what is further described together with its implementation using Matlab Simulink software and Simscape Electrical componets library. Validation of model results with measured one is also provided. An example of using the model in a simulation for assessing the increase in voltage when connecting a photovoltaic with a conventional inverter compared to connecting using an inverter with advanced functions is shown. Evaluation of model performance is also carried out.
