Analytical Evaluation of Sommerfeld Integral Tails Present in Two Layered Media Green's Functions

In this paper, a fast and reliable method of evaluating Sommerfeld integral (SI) tails is presented. The analytical evaluation method obviates using extrapolation methods and replaces the SI tail by an appropriate closed form expression. The result from analytical evaluation method has been compared against result from weighted averages method (WAM) and has displayed a good agreement. The proposed method also reduces the computational time by at least 45% when compared with WAM.
