Design and Development of 24×24 Microstrip Array Antenna Using Hybrid Feed Network Approach at Ku-Band

This paper presents the design & realization of 24×24 Stacked Electromagnetically (EM) coupled microstrip array antenna. Antenna fed by Hybrid feed network consisting of 1 to 9 H-plane waveguide power divider and nine 1 to 64 corporate microstrip power dividers. Waveguide end launchers are designed as transitions between microstrip line and waveguide feed network. Measured return loss of the array is better than 15 dB over the band. Measured radiation patterns matches well with simulated. Amplitude and phase holograms shows near uniform excitation of all the elements in array.
