LQR Approach for Regulating Voltage and Power Flow through the Ports of a Medium Voltage Quad Active Bridge Solid State Transformer

In this paper, the authors investigate power and voltage regulation of a quadrative active bridge (QAB) based, solid-state transformer (SST) design under unbalanced conditions. The control system implemented in this work makes use of linear quadratic regulator (LQR) based state feedback approaches to perform the regulation. The dynamic performance of the SST is verified analytically and validated extensively in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
