Data Analysis of Road Traffic Accidents to Minimize the rate of Accidents

There has been an influx over the years in people buying cars which has attributed to an increase in the rate of accidents leading to grave losses. This has become a major issue that needs to be dealt with and acknowledged by traffic related law enforcement organizations. The paper deals with an analysis performed which gives greater insights into the causes and factors affecting accidents. Data sets containing more than a million data points each from various regions have been considered. The datasets consist of various features including city names, the type of accident, condition of light, severity, speed zone, consumption of alcohol, time and day of the accident etc. The independent data from these datasets are used to uncover patterns and trends to draw helpful conclusions. These outcomes can be used by traffic-related law enforcement organizations who can take appropriate measures which will result in reducing the risk of loss of lives and occurrence of accidents on roads.
