From Klein Heidelberg to Modern Multistatic Passive Radar

Passive radar technology is currently entering the maturity stage. The rapid development of ground-based passive radars can be seen around the world. Technology is cheap and reliable, and a further step will be to apply the passive radar to mobile platforms - surface, sea, air-borne and perhaps also space-borne. This paper presents the history of the passive radar, and the present stage of the development of the above mentioned technology in military and civilian applications.
