Safety Related Current Monitoring for Multiphase Motors built with Digital Current Transducers

There is a growing demand for automation drives with integrated safety functions according to EN 61800-5-2. In addition to Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Motion functionalities, e.g. Safely Limited Speed (SLS), integrated safety functions like Safely Limited Torque / force (SLT) are increasingly required. The contribution describes how the essential safety-related current acquisition can be realized based on reliable full digital current sensors and safety-related processing of DSP algorithms.
