Study on electric field distribution and flashover mechanism of polluted suspension insulator

Based on complex charge simulations method, this paper presents three dimensional electrostatic models of suspension insulator with local arc. By calculating results, the polluted insulators' flashover characters including clearing, pollution, dry belt and appearing local arc along insulator surface are analysis systematically in view point of "field".
