A Behavior-Based Covert Channel Based on GPS Deception for Smart Mobile Devices

A physical behavior-based covert channel can leak information between two parties by purposely altering the application's internal states or behavior produced by a human. In this paper, the design of a physical behavior-based covert channel is presented by using GPS(Global Positioning System) deception for smart mobile devices, and an implement is provided. Our design gives well consideration to non-handshaking, offline transmission, and low suspicion. We demonstrate our implement's practicability by making experiments with different kinds of character strings. According to the comparison between the experimental trails and the real trails of university male students, our design meets the demands of stealthy and accuracy.
