Review on Heavy Mass Energy Storage and a New Such a System Using Interleaved Magnetic Structure

In this paper, a heavy mass energy storage system with interleaved structure has been introduced. This is for providing grid-scale energy storage. From calculation, it can be concluded that when its scale is large enough, it is very competitive in terms of cost and efficiency. Furthermore it is very environment friendly.
