Evaluation of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders in The Food Products Industry of Amplang Using NBM Questionnare and RULA Methods

Many Indonesian home industry workers carry out activities by sitting statically on the floor, one of which is in the process of producing amplang Amplang is a kind of cracker food made from Mahakam river fish. At the time of production there were many complaints from workers about the pain in their limbs such as the neck, back, waist and calf because it worked statically for a long time. The problem of this research is how to find a solution to overcome the continuous pain in the body by proposing an ergonomic work facility design that supports workers in a comfortable and healthy way to reduce the occurrence of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). The method in this study is to identify and collect data through surveys and questionnaires for workers in several industries. Data was taken for RULA measurement and Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. In this study found several differences in body posture while working in each process. The results of this study are evaluating the results of a variety of different body postures while working by giving a suggestion of a more ergonomic work posture. It is hoped that the results of this study will be a reference in a similar home industry where workers usually work traditionally which tend to work statically to change their habits by changing more ergonomic postures and using more ergonomic facilities and facilities to prevent MSDs.
