Construction Project Plan Waste Management Model

The contribution of the construction sector to natural damage is caused by the using, the processing, and the distributing of the materials in a construction process. These activities not only causing the damage but also producing a considerable waste. One agenda that is widely discussed to postpone the problem of global warming and its implementation is to carry out sustainable construction or called sustainable construction. In the green construction concept, one of the things that needs to be pursued is waste management or waste management. The purpose of this study is to analyze the type and the quantity of the materials as waste in the construction work and build various models of various waste materials based on the dominant materials as waste. Sample of this research are collected as consumables material for building construction projects in Badung regency, Bali by using field observations, interviews and questionnaires and analyzed residual materials. Quantitative analysis is used to determine and measure materials by calculating index waste and wastage rates. By referring to the waste management guidelines of countries such as Australia and the United States, the results of the research show that the dominant variable in causing the material waste occurring in development projects are additional work, reworking, repairing, revising, and distribution of the drawing. The materials which have the largest percentage as waste are concrete iron, plain iron, brick and ceramic. Having a WM contractor is a model that can be used in construction projects. The WM contractor will estimate the total amount of waste material and its components and develop the waste materials management.
