Reconfiguration Distribution Network with Ant Colony

Harmonics is one of the disturbances in electrical quality that directly affects the increase in power losses in the distribution network. This is because more and more customers use non-linear loads that are a source of harmonics such as the use of energy-saving lamps, computers, elevators, and so on. The use of non-linear loads on the distribution channel can cause harmonic currents to flow through the neutral wire and damage the system because it causes excessive heating of the transformer which, if left continuously, the transformer will explode, causing the electricity supply to stop flowing. In this study, estimation of losses reduction in the distribution system was applied to Barata feeders and Sulawesi feeders using a reconfiguration system with the Ant Colony Algorithm through setting 10 switches. The simulation results show that the total power loss is reduced from 0.3 kW to 3.6 kW.
