Incorporating Autonomic Capability as Quality Attribute for a Software System

With the increase in the use of computing systems, the complexity grows at a very large scale in today's hi-tech environment. With this, the management of these systems has become a cumbersome task. Experts of various fields are required to handle these complex systems. Hence a special system is needed as an alternate system that has automatic application design paradigm. This allows self management and self decision making of the software systems making it as an intelligent system. This research work aims to explore the area of autonomic computing to identify its importance and different sub attributes which can be taken care of while developing an autonomic system. The paper proposes to incorporate autonomic as one of the quality factor for software systems. Based on literature review and experts opinion five essential attributes have been identified, which must be taken into consideration while developing a qualitative autonomic software system. This allows improving the overall quality of the software system.
