Remote Traffic Monitoring & Control System

With the boom in the population, the number of vehicles on the roads is increasing drastically, especially in the urban areas. And hence most of the countries are making efforts to expand the network of roadways to reduce traffic on the roads. But according to Braess’s Paradox, it was proven that building a new road is not the solution to reduce traffic. But, India is still dependent upon the traffic policemen. It was a need to develop some more efficient system of traffic light which is cheaper than the other devices. The problem can be resolved by using an intelligent technology in monitoring the traffic in all directions from any remote source in which the system automatically detects the traffic by entering the coordinates of road intersection and some nearby distance which can be manually modified and entered in the system and information is received via Google Maps distance matrix API and change the duration of the traffic signal automatically. Hence, it would be more efficient. And this data is automatically being stored on a data warehouse for checking the traffic trend on the road and for future use.
