Performance analysis of TCM aided Block Diagonalization using STBCs for MIMO systems

By using Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Systems we can achieve low bit error rates which in turn result in highly reliable systems. Assuming that channel state information is known, we have designed a Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM) aided Block Diagonalization (BD) technique using Space Time Block Codes (STBCs). The application of above technique to MIMO systems results in decrease of bit error rates as Block Diagonalization (BD) reduces Multi User Interference (MUI), while TCM provides efficient channel encoding/decoding, and STBC reduces signal fading effects.
