Graph Coloring Based Approach for Resource Allocation in 5G Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication has been studied extensively, and now is attracting great interest as a study item of the fifth generation of cellular mobile communications(5G). 5G V2V is expected to support more advanced use cases and fulfill more stringent requirements including low latency, high reliability and high data rate. Among the high demands imposedby 5G V2V, one big challenge is how to reduce the collision in resource allocation and guarantee the successful deliveries of the messages especially when each vehicle suffers the half-duplex constraint. To this end, a novel resource allocation scheme has been proposed in this paper, which is comprised of two successive steps of graph coloring operations where the half-duplex problem is solved and the resource collision is reduced. Numeric evaluation justifies its effectiveness and efficiency.
