Investigation of Reliability Characteristics of Software-defined Networks

This paper discusses the possibility of improving the reliability of software-defined networks (SDN). The investigated network of the industrial enterprise is given. The list of possible states for the studied network is determined. The table of transitions between states is constructed. The graph of the studied network without reservation and with reservation is shown. The values for the intensity of transitions between different states are given. The values of the limiting probabilities of the system at different failure rates are determined. The dependence of the availability factor on the failure detection intensity for the redundant system and the non-redundant system is determined.
