Parametric Modeling and Finite Element Analysis of the Camshaft Based on ANSYS APDL

Aiming at the problem of the camshaft fracture of the drum brake in use, the finite element structural analysis model of the camshaft was established by using ANSYS APDL. The static analysis of the camshaft was implemented and the static displacement and equivalent stress of camshaft were computed based on ANSYS. The maximum deformation and equivalent stress distribution were obtained. In addition, the design hidden troubles were pointed out. These results can offer references for the camshaft design and manufacture as well as improved the quality of the brake system.
