Abstract:
In this paper a split triangular ring resonator SIW cavity backed CP antenna is presented. The triangular ring that is etched on the top conductor is responsible for creating the CP. The ring is fed directly using a coaxial probe with a proper distance relative to the symmetry plane of it. According to the simulated results this antenna benefits from having higher bandwidth and gain, and wider AR bandwidth in comparison to other low-profile antennas. A prototype of this antenna that is designed to operate in X-band is fabricated and were tested in an anechoic chamber. The measured results show that the antenna resonates at 10.5 GHz with 8.57% impedance bandwidth.
