New Design of Separated Cylinders Petrol-Diesel Combined Automotive Engine

Two most common and useful internal combustion engines are petrol and diesel. Both have some advantages and disadvantages which according to the characteristics the functionality would be exploited. Combination of the two engines needs some considerations due to differences between, like size and shape of cylinders. Since there are different types of dual-fuel engine like HCCI, RCCI, etc., this paper focuses on different model which both fuels are injected into their accordant cylinders. So there are no mixed-fuel in this type at all. By the way, diesel engine has much higher torque and petrol engine has better acceleration as result of shorter distance the piston takes and lighter part like crankshaft and piston rod. On the other hands, despite diesel fuel burns slower it releases higher energy. So, by application of two petrol and diesel cylinders in an internal combustion engines chance of increased output power would rise as well. By this paper it would be a way to work on the new model petrol-diesel combined engine in order to gain acceleration as result of faster burn of petrol fuel in one or two cylinders a side, besides to exploit higher torque initiated by Diesel engine. The first section is about history of internal combustion engine types (focus is on diesel and petrol engines types), petrol and diesel engines usability, functionality and preferences. Differences of the engines in, fuel consumption, size and so on. Secondly we focus on how to combine petrol and diesel engines by a predesign model. Then the performance of new model engine is calculated. At last a comparison between single petrol and diesel engine with new designed engine in order to evaluate the advantages and benefits of the represented idea.
