Wireless Consumer Electronic Devices: The Effects of Impulsive Radio-Frequency Interference

This article explores various impulsive noise (IN) scenarios and their effect on the performance of wireless consumer electronics (CE) devices. IN deteriorates the performance of wireless devices. Thus, IN mitigation/reduction is necessary for CE devices in real-life applications. Furthermore, CE devices play a vital role in the Internet of Things (IoT). Therefore, their robust operability and study in the presence of IN is essential. In this article, we review IN scenarios and its modeling, and we present various IN mitigation/reduction methods at the wireless receivers.
