A Novel Electrically Controlled Sum and Difference Network Based on Reflective Phase Shifter

In this paper, an electrically controlled Sum and Difference network applied to monopulse radar is designed and investigated. The network implements sum and difference signals by the combination of an unequal Wilkinson power divider with a reflective phase shifters. By changing the control voltage of PIN diode in reflective phase shifters, various reflection coefficient in the reflective phase shifters is realized, that is, the working mode is changed. The simulated and measured results indicate that it has a high isolation and good return loss performance at all the three ports and low flatness of amplitude and phase between the two output ports. It can be applied to direction finding antenna system.
