High-speed Photographic Measurement System for Satellite-rocket Unlocking and Separation Test

Satellite-rocket unlocking and separation test is an important test during satellite assembly integration and test process. During this test, clamp band as a kind of unlocking and separating mechanism need to be measured including displacement and moving time. This paper describes a measurement method based on high-speed photography. Two high-speed cameras are used to record images of the whole test process in two different directions. Four-quadrant target paper objects are stuck on the surface of clamp band to ease the object recognition and tracing. Intense LED lights are used to supply enough light intensity. Analysis software can process images and calculate movement parameters. The sample rate of each camera is 1000 frame per second with 1920*1080 pixels resolution. The measurement accuracy is 0.2mm. The measurement results show that this method has good precision and can be applied to Satellite-rocket unlocking and separation test.
